Terms of Service

These are the terms of service for KitchenFox, a recipe management app operated by Slater Tech Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17187576) with its registered office at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. In these terms, "KitchenFox", "we", and "us" refer to Slater Tech Ltd. By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms. They are intended to be fair and readable. If anything is unclear, email support@kitchenfox.co.uk and I'll explain.

1. The service

KitchenFox ("the service") lets you save recipes, plan meals, generate shopping lists, and follow recipes step by step in a cook mode. The service is provided through the website at app.kitchenfox.co.uk and is available to people in most countries. Some regions may be unavailable due to legal, tax, or payment restrictions outside our control.

2. Your account

• You must be at least 16 years old to use KitchenFox.
• You're responsible for keeping your password confidential and for activity that happens under your account.
• Provide an email address you actually have access to. Critical account emails (password resets, billing) go there.
• You can delete your account at any time from in-app settings.

3. Free trial

New accounts include a 14-day free trial of all features. No payment information is taken to start the trial. The trial does not auto-convert into a paid subscription: at the end of 14 days, the service simply switches to read-only mode unless you choose to start a paid plan.

4. Subscription and billing

KitchenFox uses Stripe as its merchant of record, through Stripe's "Onelink" service. When you start a paid subscription, the payment is "Sold through Onelink" and your statement will show a descriptor such as Onelink.com* KitchenFox (or similar). Stripe is the seller of record for the payment and handles billing, tax, refunds, and payment-related support. These terms still govern your use of the KitchenFox app itself, which is provided by Slater Tech Ltd; Stripe's terms additionally apply to the payment.

• The paid plan is £3 per month, billed in pounds sterling (GBP) and inclusive of any applicable taxes. Where tax such as VAT, GST, or sales tax is due, Stripe — as merchant of record — calculates, withholds, and remits it, so the price you see is the price you pay. If your card is in another currency, your bank or card issuer handles the conversion at their rate.
• Subscriptions are billed in advance. You can update your card details or cancel at any time from in-app settings, or through the Onelink customer portal.
• If you cancel, your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period and then ends without further charge.
• If a payment fails, the subscription is paused and your account moves to read-only mode. You can resume by updating your card.
• Prices may change in the future. Existing subscribers will be given at least 30 days' notice by email before any price increase takes effect.

5. Refunds

Many countries — including the UK and the EEA — give consumers a 14-day right to cancel a distance purchase. Because KitchenFox is a digital service that starts immediately, by beginning a paid subscription you ask for the service to be supplied right away and acknowledge that, once it has begun, you lose that 14-day cancellation right for the period already supplied. The 14-day free trial lets you evaluate everything before you pay, without using up this right.

Because Stripe is the merchant of record, refunds are handled through Stripe's Onelink service: you can request one from the Onelink customer portal or its support, and Stripe can usually refund within 60 days of a payment. If something has clearly gone wrong on KitchenFox's side, or you've been charged in error, email support@kitchenfox.co.uk and I'll help sort it out.

None of this affects any mandatory consumer rights you have under the law of the country where you live, which always take precedence.

6. Your content

• You retain all rights in the recipes, photos, notes, and other content you create or upload ("Your Content").
• You grant KitchenFox a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, transmit, and display Your Content for the sole purpose of providing the service to you.
• You're responsible for making sure you have the right to upload Your Content. Don't upload material that infringes anyone else's rights.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the service for anything illegal, fraudulent, or harmful.
• Attempt to break, probe, or interfere with the service or other users' accounts.
• Scrape, bulk-download, or republish other users' content.
• Resell or sublicense access to the service.
• Use the AI import features to bypass the access controls of any third-party site, or to import content you don't have permission to use.

KitchenFox may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these rules, usually after a warning unless the breach is serious.

8. AI-powered import and copyright

Recipe import uses third-party AI services to extract recipe data from URLs, photos, or pasted text. The output is best-effort and you should check it before relying on it. KitchenFox isn't liable for inaccuracies in AI-generated content.

To keep the service sustainable, the AI-powered features (recipe import and shopping-list consolidation) are subject to a fair-use monthly usage limit. If you reach the limit, those features pause until the start of the next calendar month; the rest of KitchenFox stays fully available. The limit is set generously for normal personal use and only affects unusually heavy usage.

You are responsible for what you import. By using the import features, you confirm that, for every recipe you import:

• You have the right to copy that content for your personal use — for example, because the website allows it, you own the cookbook, you're the author, or the recipe is otherwise free of restriction.
• You will not import content from sources whose terms forbid copying or extraction, and you will not bypass paywalls, login walls, or other access controls.
• You will not redistribute imported recipes outside your own KitchenFox account, and you will not republish them publicly in a way that infringes the original author or publisher's copyright.

Imported recipes are stored in your account for your own personal use. KitchenFox does not claim ownership of imported content and is not the publisher of it. If you're a rights holder and believe content has been imported in breach of your rights, email support@kitchenfox.co.uk and we'll work with you to remove it.

9. Availability

KitchenFox aims to keep the service available 24/7 but doesn't guarantee uninterrupted access. The service may occasionally be unavailable for maintenance, updates, or reasons outside my control. Material outages that affect paid users will be acknowledged on the status page or by email.

10. Intellectual property

The KitchenFox name, logo, design, and software are owned by Slater Tech Ltd. These terms don't grant you any rights to use the brand other than as needed to use the service normally.

11. Liability

KitchenFox is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, KitchenFox's total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these terms or the service is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months before the claim arose.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under UK law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

12. Termination

• You can stop using KitchenFox and delete your account at any time.
• KitchenFox may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms, that are inactive for an extended period, or where the service is being discontinued.
• On termination, you will lose access to the service. You can export your recipes from in-app settings before deleting your account.

13. Changes to these terms

If these terms change in a way that materially affects your rights, registered users will be notified by email at least 30 days before the change takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that date constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes that can't be resolved by emailing me first will be subject to the courts of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of any mandatory provisions of the law of the country where you live, and you may be able to bring proceedings in your local courts where your local law allows. Nothing in these terms removes statutory rights that cannot be waived by agreement.
